Marketing Technology of the Future Today

Lucas Zerbe

Business cards have been a stable in marketing since they were first used in China in the 15th Century. Back then they were called “Visiting Cards” and they were used by the Noble and Wealthy families as a promotion tool or to show they had stopped for a visit. In today’s business market they are a key method to market oneself to all possible in-person contacts. However, in recent years they have become less and less effective. Why? Mostly due to technology. People no longer keep rolodex or books of business cards. They use cell phones. We use our cellphones for almost everything from phone calls to emails. Statistics show 86% of business cards are thrown away in the first week. You may be asking yourself how do I get my prospects to keep my business card? That would be the wrong question. What you need to figure out is how do I get these prospects to keep my information and think of me when they need insurance. The answer involves a combination of two items the business card and the cell phone. We want our information to be stored in their phones where they will always have it.

Technology to the rescue. A new Business Card using “Tap Technology”. Many if not all of us pay for items and services every day using this very same technology. Now we have a “Tap Business Card” from POPL that will allow us to simple touch a card to any prospects cellphone and deliver our information:

  • Name
  • Cell Phone Number
  • Email
  • Compass Website
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram

Not only do they get our information but on the same tap we collect the prospects information and it is stored in our personal Popl CRM and our cell phone so we can now easily follow up. This technology is an amazing way to give prospects our information and collect theirs simultaneously. No more worrying about running out of business cards or even forgetting to carry them. Popl offers this tap technology in multiple formats:

  • Cards
  • Pop sockets
  • Key Chains
  • Bracelets
  • Sticker for back of phone
  • Much More….

Compass is in the process of setting up an account where our agents will be able to order custom materials from Popl at a 20% discount with Compass Logos. Keeping up with technology is key in business today. However, in the case of this “Tap Technology” from Popl I believe we have found something that increases productivity and made every agents life a little easier.
