The Medicare Annual Election Period as well as ACA Open Enrollment is upon us!
Here are some marketing strategies for you and your agents as we head into our favorite time of the year.
If you are working from one of our many retail stores, here is a fantastic idea to reach out to your community from your plaza. Promote an Open House on a Saturday and include a table and tent, with activities such as balloons, Spin the Wheel for promotional giveaways, sandwich platters, face painting for kids and have a couple agents there with promotional/marketing materials like brochures to hand out to all who attend.
Another great strategy is contacting your local Dedicated Senior Center for Medicare events which will lead to MAPD sales. Contact Amanda Simpson here at the home office to find out who your local MGC partner is at your nearest Dedicated Senior Center.
Hire a sign spinner to stand out on the corner of your plaza. When I ran the Hobe Sound retail store a few years ago, we always had a sign spinner during OE and about half of our prospects said they came in because they saw the sign spinner out front.
Do as much local grassroot marketing as you can. Some great ideas include dry cleaners, Dollar Tree, P&C agencies, local restaurants, churches & temples, Senior Community Centers, gyms, chamber of commerce and industrial parks to name a few.
Create your own social media page for your business. LinkedIn and Facebook are the two big ones that a lot of self-employed people see traction with.
And lastly, be prepared all the time with business cards, pamphlets, and brochures.
