

Allstate Benefits is the group benefits division of Allstate – Steve Ramsey our Director of Group Sales here at Compass has made sure we are appointed with their product lines, and they are now available for agents to quote. Some exciting news regarding Allstate Benefits and the group market!
As Humana is exiting the group health business, Allstate has offered to MATCH any Humana group plan already on the books at the same rates or better – and match the benefits on the current plan they have with Humana!
This can be done with no additional underwriting, or increase in rates for the remainder of time the group has on the current plan. It is basically a transfer of current plans without all the paperwork normally involved with submitting a new group.
An important thing we need to start stressing with potential clients, is the networks they utilize. Allstate, like their individual products, give the customer the choice of either the Aetna Open Choice PPO network, or the Cigna PPO network.
This is very important because under normal circumstances, Cigna will not quote a group that’s less than 25 employees, and even then are very picky about who they take on.
Another point to consider…
Florida Blue does not pay for 2 or 3-man groups. Allstate will pay commission for these groups. The Dental and Vision Allstate offers with their group health plans will work for most groups as BEAM is their national carrier for dental and VSP is certainly national and taken by almost all optometrists.
